Crown of the Cosmos Progression – Learning Together, Not Just Pulling

There's something special about progressing on the final boss of a raid.

Every pull feels meaningful. Every percentage matters. Every player has an opportunity to improve.

For us, that boss is Crown of the Cosmos, the climactic encounter at the top of The Voidspire. The fight spans multiple phases and intermissions, combining movement, positioning, add control and individual responsibility into one of Midnight's most demanding encounters.

As we continue our progression, one thing has become clearer than ever:

Preparation outside of raid time can make all the difference.

There Isn't Just One Strategy

One of the biggest mistakes players can make is assuming the first guide they watch is the correct way to do the fight.

The reality is that every guild approaches progression differently.

  • Some guilds prioritise safety.
  • Others maximise damage.
  • Some groups assign immunities where another guild simply heals through the mechanic.

Even the world's best guilds often use different positioning, cooldown plans and movement patterns.

None of these approaches are necessarily right or wrong—they're simply what worked best for that particular team.

Our strategy is built around our roster, our composition and our strengths.

Watch More Than One Kill

If you're looking to improve before raid night, don't stop after watching one guide.

Instead, try watching:

  • A general boss guide to understand the mechanics.
  • A top guild's progression kill.
  • A kill from another guild with a similar raid composition.
  • Most importantly... A Point of View (POV) from someone playing your own class and role.

This is often where the biggest improvements come from.

Your Class Sees the Fight Differently

A healer experiences Crown of the Cosmos very differently from a melee DPS.

A ranged player has different movement challenges than a tank.

Even two different DPS specs can approach the same mechanic in completely different ways.

Watching someone who plays your class can help answer questions like:

  • Where do they stand?
  • When do they use movement abilities?
  • Which cooldowns are saved for later phases?
  • How do they maintain uptime while handling mechanics?
  • When do they use defensives?

These are details that rarely appear in standard boss guides.

Warcraft Logs Are Your Friend

One of the most valuable tools available to any Mythic raider is Warcraft Logs.

After every raid, spend a few minutes looking at your own performance.

Don't focus solely on your parse.

Instead, ask yourself:

  • Did I die unnecessarily?
  • Did I lose uptime during mechanics?
  • Could I have planned my cooldowns better?
  • Was I using health potions and defensives effectively?
  • What did players performing well do differently?

Improvement isn't about comparing yourself to everyone else—it's about being a little better than you were last week.

Progression Is a Team Sport

No one kills a Mythic end boss alone.

Every interrupt, defensive cooldown, external heal and mechanic handled correctly contributes towards the kill.

Sometimes the biggest improvement you can make isn't increasing your damage—it's surviving one mechanic you died to last pull.

If nineteen other people can rely on you to do your job consistently, the boss health will eventually reach zero.

One Pull Closer

Every wipe teaches something.

Every percentage gained is progress.

Every raid night brings us one step closer to that first Mythic Crown of the Cosmos kill.

We're incredibly proud of how the team has approached progression so far. People are asking questions, sharing videos, reviewing logs and constantly looking for ways to improve—not because they have to, but because everyone wants to succeed together.

We'll get there.

One pull at a time.

See you in the Voidspire. And remember—watch your own POV, learn from others, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Sometimes the smallest adjustment is the one that gets the boss down.
